Boston Maternity Portrait Session

Maternity Portrait Photography • Stoneham Middlesex Fells Reservation

Your pregnancy is a very intimate and personal time. It is also a time filled with immense love for your growing child–a love that knows no bounds or faults, even before the precious baby is born. I strive to provide maternity photography Boston mothers feel comfortable partaking in, and this is evidenced by my delicate pregnancy photos that make the mother feel at home.

I like to start this type of photo session by focusing on the mother by asking her beforehand to wear a stunning white dress of her choosing. Whatever she arrives in will be perfect, as the color white displays purity, and with this in mind, I hope to capture the purity of the love between mother and child. Then, I gently fasten a bow around her middle. This bow is the classic color blue, or the traditional color of pink, depending on the gender of the child. After a few shots of her with the bow, I opt to bring the father into the picture.

Before the shoot, I also ask him to wear a shirt that matches the gender of the baby, thus, the bow. In these introduction pictures, the couple is pictured holding up balloons in blue that say underneath them the gender of the child. In this case, the balloon says, “boy.” With a few pictures of the balloons under my belt, we move on to intimate pregnancy photos, ones that show the father bent down to carefully kiss the mother’s growing belly. This shows the father’s love for the child.

We resume with photos of the two of them together in the sunny, green forest. The natural beauty of their surroundings provides a stunning backdrop in which to take my photos. Often, as a Boston portrait photographer, I like to use natural, outdoor settings in a way that compliment the subjects of my photos. This way the setting does not detract from the family at hand. I add in a banner that the couple holds between them. The blue banner holds the happiest statement: It’s a boy! A few shots of them looking into the camera while holding the banner are followed by them gazing lovingly into each others eyes.

I do enjoy taking traditional shots as well. These include images of the mother-to-be gently caressing and holding onto her tummy with delight in her eyes as she conveys her thrill regarding the life inside of her. She is pictured on a grassy, sunlit path in the woods, and her smile is as bright as the sunshine around her.

Finally, I include a casual photograph of the happy couple together. No instructed posing goes into this shot. Instead, I simply let them be themselves and stand before me as the elated couple that they are, and their smiles truly speak one thousand words.

If you would like to partake in this maternity photography Boston mothers have grown to love, I am happy to oblige! Let me use my experience as a Boston portrait photographer to provide you with keepsakes you will look back on forever. Contact me at PHONE/EMAIL for more information.

Boston Family Portrait Session

Boston Family Portrait Photography • Middleton MA

In my time as a Boston portrait photographer, I have been able to take advantage of many wonderful opportunities to showcase the special love and care between family members. I believe that every single member of the family is important. Each one plays a vital role in the happy dynamic of the family–even the family dog! I like to show pictures of everyone together as a whole, as well as different pairings and solo shots to see the interaction between each member of your family to help me become a family photography Boston service clients can rely on.

With the Zenga family, I started with a visit to their home to take a few group snapshots of them in familiar surroundings where they ultimately spend the most time. The home visit included outdoor family portraits on the lawn as they played and had fun together. Next, the family sat down in the grass where they all posed together for a classic shot with their dog at their side. I took a few solo shots of him as well. Also included were several pictures of random rooms in the home creating a remembrance of what the home looked like as the children grew up.

Then, we divided up the family into different pairs of children with respective parents. I find as a Boston portrait photographer that children sometimes act and appear differently with each parent, so I like to capture that dynamic, too. There are, of course, photos of each child on their own so that I can allow each one of their personalities to shine through as individuals.

Sometimes, I will use symbolic shots. I chose to have the older daughter lead the younger child across a quaint, wooden footbridge as they held hands with each other. To me, these outdoor family portraits symbolized the path that the older sister helps to shape, showing how much loving influence a big sister has on the baby of the family.

Photos of the happy parents were also included. I like to look at old photos of the couple together and take a few shots that resemble these so that they may put them side by side and see that their love has never changed throughout the years. I then take unique shots that will allow the parents to have new memories to share.

A few playful shots are also included in these sets. Shots of one of the children laughing merrily on her mothers back, for instance, is one of the ways I show the dynamic between mother and child. The genuine innocence of the children is also displayed, with photos of them playing in fields of breathtaking flowers. For an added, silly bonus, I even got a shot of one of the children playing dress up!

Great Brook Farm State Park | Family Portrait Photographer

Boston Family Portrait Photographer

Family Photography Boston • Great Brook Farm State Park, Carlisle

As a Boston portrait photographer, I have spent much time taking different sorts of photographs in different settings. What I enjoy capturing the most are images of the family dynamic, one of the most important facets of life. There are many Boston family photographers out there, but I feel I hold a certain passion for displaying the love between family members and not just a few pretty faces. There is something to be said about the way siblings interact with each other, and parents with the children, and I intend to showcase that with every photo I take.

The Kostanski family recently requested my services, and I happily agreed, eager to see their special dynamic. Family photography that Boston residents can look to for quality service is my goal, and I was able to deliver. We started with simple family portraits moving onto the traditional photos of the parents swinging their daughter between them as they took a quick stroll, followed by grassy shots of them all together. Then, I took it to the next step by having them pose as a family on a woody path in the forest. I allowed this to symbolize the long, yet beautiful, road of parenthood. Of course, a few pictures were taken of the children with each parent separately.

I then put my focus on the young children of the family. The older child had a few solo shots taken while playing in a lovely field of purple flowers which truly complemented her stunning, blonde hair. A few shots in the grass were taken of the baby in the family, simply being her innocent self and laughing as she watched butterflies float about. It was time for duo photos of the siblings; I captured many of the older child kissing the baby or simply resting together on a grassy patch. These photos captured the children being sweet to one another, showcasing the gentle nature of children.

What I have learned as a Boston portrait photographer is to include a few fun shots in the photo session, and for the Kostanski family this included a visit to a petting zoo! This would let the children’s imagination and curiosity run wild, picturing them in their natural state–always learning. There were a few shots of the playful family in descending height and some with the parents in the background while the children rested in the foreground; I particularly liked these shots because they were symbolic of the independent people these children would one day become.

I focused on the baby once again, taking a few traditional photos of the baby’s feet for a completed feel that rounded out the rest of the photos. These pictures displayed a sweet bond between mother and child as the mother gently held onto the child’s feet and legs. Finally, we took some action shots of the children running and playing with their parents.

Boston family photographers often leave out the emotion behind the shots, but I make sure my family photography Boston work is exceptional and unique in that way. Contact me at PHONE/EMAIL to schedule your photoshoot with me, and show the world the powerful love in your family.
