Surprise Engagement Photography • Boston Propose Ideas

Engagement photography is a relatively new trend in the world of photography, but I myself have much experience as a proposal photographer Boston clients have grown to love and trust. There is nothing more exciting than your big wedding day–except perhaps the day that you get asked to marry your loved one. Many photographs are taken to capture your love at the wedding ceremony, but what about photos of the moment that started it all?

When I begin my engagement photo shoots, I like to start off by staying hidden from sight, snapping a few photos of the couple doing normal things like taking selfies or talking quietly together. Then, the transformation unfolds as the groom-to-be goes down on one knee and asks the woman of his life to be his forever. This also provides me an opportunity to catch her initial reaction to the big question, which is one of my favorite things to shoot!

The process is completed with a loving kiss of which I also take a few photographs before I decide it is time to make my presence known.

After congratulating the couple, I enjoy taking a couple of posed shots in the location where they got engaged. Memories can fade over time and be difficult to recall, but not when there are photos like these to remind you of the moment every day. Then, we move on to a few locations around town where I allow them to be themselves before the camera to truly capture their everyday happiness.

Ring shots are important. I take a few of the hand that wears the ring posed on the back of the man she loves or against a nice backdrop, along with the ring still in the box it came in. The bride-to-be has her solo photo taken a few times where she also can clearly display the ring.

One of the best parts of the process is asking the proposing party beforehand if they plan on throwing any sort of engagement party after the proposal. If they say yes, I hurry to the location to beat them there so that when the woman comes out, surprised by the love and by the amount of people there, I am waiting to capture her reaction. Not only that, but I make sure to get many shots of the newly engaged with their ecstatic family members so that they can look back on this moment and see how proud and happy their loved ones are. One of the greatest joys as a proposal photographer Boston families turn to is seeing the elation on their faces.

Engagement Photography • Save the Date Photo Boston

In my time as a Boston engagement photographer, I have been given the joyous opportunity to do a number of photoshoots for a variety of loving couples. I believe that all relationships are made equal, and each one is a beautiful testament to the most powerful, righteous force on earth: love. It can move mountains–it can change long-held laws and beliefs. It can do absolutely anything, and capturing that majesty on film is what I am most passionate about.

In my Boston engagement photos, I like to show the lighthearted side of love; the parts of each other that are fun and silly while also being caring and compassionate. There are a number of different styles I enjoy implementing, including the traditional announcement of the wedding date in a fun, out-of-the-ordinary way.

Recently, I was given the incredibly special chance to capture the excitement of a new engagement with Samantha and Anna, two women who very clearly displayed their undying love for one another. We began with announcing the date of the impending marriage by holding a string between the two of them with the wedding date attached to it. I also had them wear white shirts with the month and the year boldly displayed on the side of them, so that when they hugged each other, the exciting date was clearly shown on them for the world to see. Aiming to deliver engagement photos Boston can trust, we then took a few pictures of them simply hugging each other and looking into one another’s eyes for that timeless and classic feel.

The love between a same-sex couple often goes through unique trials and tests that many other couples simply will not face. This instigates a feeling of pride and accomplishment, a hope instilled in them and recognized by the new promise of a vibrant rainbow. To showcase this, we played with colored powder in an exciting and explosive way. Samantha and Anna took turns playfully showering the other in this multi-colored dust, covering each other in vibrant hues that span the spectrum of that prideful rainbow. Action shots showing this process were taken for some stunning photos, along with a few pictures showing the after effects of their fun together with color all over them.

Of course, Boston engagement photos aren’t complete without a few shots of the dazzling rings. We cleaned up their hands and took a few photos of their hands touching with the ring on display, showing the love and intimacy they share in these exciting times. A few of the photos feature natural poses such as the couple snuggling on the grass or laughing together in a heartfelt embrace.

These are the moments I live for as a Boston engagement photographer. If these Boston engagement photos appeal to you, you may contact me at any time at PHONE/EMAIL to learn more about my services and schedule your own unique and beautiful engagement photos Boston knows and loves today.

Boston Couples Photographer • Boston Portrait Photography

Relationships are all important, no matter what stage they are in. I believe that any relationship between two people, budding or established, is a definite milestone in your lives and deserves to be cherished and remembered just like any other important moment in time that you want to preserve. I have taken many couple pictures in my time as a photographer and enjoy capturing the special, close and loving bond between two people. As a Boston couple photographer, I specialize in memorializing moments all around our beautiful city. No matter what setting you should choose to hold your photo shoot, I make the best of your surroundings in a way that complements the obvious love between the two of you. Casual and easygoing, my goal is to make you feel like the two of you can be yourselves around me in order to capture the true essence of your precious bond.
I was given the special chance recently to photograph two wonderful people in a committed relationship with one another. We began in the early evening, which holds the most flattering, romantic lighting in which to take my photographs. Many of the photographs I took in the beginning were beautiful water shots in which I let the light play against the ripples and the sunlight flicker around and through the darkened silhouettes of my clients for a breathtaking effect.
In many of my shots, I use commonplace poses for photographing couples so that they feel streamlined and familiar. However, I do like to add in my own personal flair and perspectives so that your unique photo shoot truly feels like it is solely your own, standing out from the rest of the couple pictures out there. Of course, I give my clients the ability to help guide me in the direction they want to take, letting them give me their own suggestions for their poses for photographing couples so that their own touch is present in their cherished pictures.
Occasionally, I like to take flattering, candid shots that are not in a staged pose to clearly showcase the love and happiness you share together. Shots filtered between tree leaves, photos of you in tall grass exchanging quiet conversation and solid backdrops that draw attention to your smiles are my favorites. These candid shots often invoke the most emotion upon viewing, as you can truly see yourselves the way others see you when they look at your happy relationship.
I also enjoy taking action shots that are fun and casual such as I did in this shoot. Many photos were taken of the couple dancing, mid twirl, as well as playfully tossing a football between them. As the sun faded, the tone of the photos changed again while I took shots of them against the beautiful, dying light. I believe in taking timeless templates of photography and putting my own spin on them so that you get everything out of your photographs that you desire.
I would love to be the Boston couple photographer that you turn to in order to capture forever the flowering of your special relationship. You can contact me at phone/email and let me help you bring the magic of your love to tangible life.
