Booking and payment
How do I book a session?
Fill in the contact form with a rough idea of what you’re after and when. I’ll come back within 24 hours with available dates. Once we’ve picked one, a $200 retainer holds it.
Is there a deposit to hold the date?
Yes — a $200 retainer, which comes off your session fee rather than being an extra charge.
It’s non-refundable if you cancel, because once your date is booked I stop offering it to other families. It can be moved once to another date with at least seven days’ notice.
What does a session cost?
$599 for 30 minutes, $799 for 60 minutes, and $1,199 for 90 minutes. Every edited image is included at every price — there are no sitting fees, no print packages and nothing to buy afterwards.
Full details are on the pricing page.
What’s included in the price?
My travel, the shooting time, all the editing, and every edited image delivered as a high-resolution digital file with a print release. That’s the whole thing.
What are the payment options?
Cash, check, PayPal or Venmo.
How far in advance should we book?
Fall weekends usually go six to eight weeks ahead — September and October are the busiest weeks of my year. The rest of the time, two to three weeks is normally plenty.
What happens if it rains?
We reschedule, at no cost. New England weather isn’t your fault and I’d rather move the date than shoot in bad light.
Your session
Do you have a studio?
No, and that’s deliberate. Everything is shot on location in natural light — a local park, or right at your own home.
Where do sessions happen?
Usually a park near you, or your own house and backyard. Some of my favourite sessions never leave the home. If somewhere means something to your family, we can shoot there.
Do you travel? Is there a travel fee?
No travel fee within about twelve miles of Burlington (01803) — that covers Winchester, Lexington, Arlington, Bedford, Woburn, Reading, Wilmington and the towns around them. Further out is usually still possible; just ask and I’ll quote it.
What do you photograph?
Families, maternity, newborns, baby and milestone sessions, and engagements and surprise proposals.
I don’t shoot weddings, corporate work, headshots or events. If that’s what you need I’m happy to point you towards someone who does it well.
What should we wear?
Soft, muted colours that don’t compete with each other, and clothes your kids can actually move in. Coordinate rather than match — matching outfits photograph stiffer than people expect. Avoid big graphics and busy patterns.
I send a short guide with real examples once your date is booked.
Do we need a permit?
For a small family session in a public park, generally not. A few private spots prefer you check in first, and I take care of that once we’ve picked a location.
Our kids won’t sit still. Is that a problem?
No — it’s the point. I don’t pose people or ask anyone to look at the camera and smile on cue. Toddlers running about is the photograph, not an obstacle to it.
Can you photograph our extended family or a birthday?
Yes to both. Extended-family groups work best in an open park with room to move, and the 90-minute session is usually the right fit. Just mention it when you get in touch.
After the session
When will we see the photos?
Your full edited gallery arrives within seven days.
How many images do we get?
30+ from a Mini session, 60+ from a Signature and 90+ from a Full Story — every one of them edited, and all of them included.
Can we print them ourselves?
Yes. Every session includes a print release, so the files are yours to download and print at any size, anywhere you like. I don’t sell prints or hold your images hostage.
What if we don’t like the photos?
Then you don’t pay. Tell me within seven days of your gallery arriving and I’ll reshoot at no charge, or refund everything you’ve paid including the retainer. The full terms are on my satisfaction guarantee page.
Do you speak Mandarin or Cantonese?
Yes — sessions can be run in English, Mandarin or Cantonese. 也可以看中文版本。
Still have a question?
Ask me directly — I answer every enquiry within 24 hours, and I’ll tell you honestly if I’m not the right photographer for what you need.
