I’m Mat — a photographer based in Burlington, and I shoot maternity sessions right across the towns nearby. A lot of the families I work with, I meet for the first time while they’re expecting, and then again once the baby arrives.
My sessions are candid and shot entirely in natural light. No studio, and no posing you into shapes that feel nothing like you. We walk, we talk, and I photograph what actually happens — the two of you, your hands, your first child pressing an ear against the bump. Sessions start at $599 with every edited image included.
If this is your first baby, know that most people feel awkward for about ten minutes and then forget I’m there. That’s the part I’m good at.
Planning it
When and where to shoot
28 to 34 weeks
The sweet spot. The bump is unmistakably there, and you’re usually still comfortable enough to walk a park path and enjoy it. Reach out around 20 to 24 weeks so we can pick a date without rushing.
A park near you
Open meadows and long tree lines in the hour before sunset. Flat, easy paths and parking close by — nothing that asks much of you at 32 weeks.
Your own home
Some of my favourite maternity sessions never leave the house. Window light, a quiet morning, the nursery you’ve just finished. Nobody has to get in the car.

I’ve been taking photos since I was a kid — more than thirty years now — and I turned that into a business in 2015. Two kids of my own later, I still shoot the only way I ever have: candid, natural light, and the moments you didn’t know were happening.

How much does a maternity session cost?
$599 for 30 minutes, $799 for 60, and $1,199 for 90. Every edited image is included — no sitting fees, no print packages and nothing to buy afterwards.
When should we book?
Get in touch around 20 to 24 weeks and we’ll pick a date without rushing. Most sessions land between 28 and 34 weeks. After 36 weeks is still lovely — we just keep it short and close to home.
Where do sessions happen?
A park near you, or right at your own home — whichever suits you best. Plenty of my favourite maternity sessions never leave the house.
Can my partner and children come?
Yes, and at no extra cost. Some of the best frames are your older child meeting the bump. Bring whoever you want in the photos.
What should I wear?
Something fitted over the bump — jersey or ribbed knit, anything with a bit of stretch. Loose fabric hides the shape. Solid colours over busy patterns, and comfortable shoes for the walk in.
How quickly do we get the photos?
Your full edited gallery arrives within seven days, and every image is yours to download and print.
