I’m Mat — a family photographer based right here in Burlington. I’ve been photographing local families for years, in the parks around town and, just as often, right at home where everyone is most relaxed.
My sessions are candid and shot entirely in natural light. No forced lineups and no “everybody say cheese” — I follow your kids around and photograph what actually happens. Sessions start at $599 with every edited image included, and your gallery is delivered within seven days.
Weekends in September and October book out first. If you want autumn colour or soft golden-hour light for your family, reach out early.

The best spots for family photos in Burlington
Mary Cummings Park
A big open park on the Burlington–Woburn line, with wide meadows and tree lines that give kids room to run instead of standing still. Soft light in the hour before sunset, and parking close by.
Simonds Park
Right in the middle of town and five minutes from most Burlington homes. Open green, mature shade trees and easy parking — my pick for short sessions with very small children.
Landlocked Forest
Quiet wooded trails on Burlington’s Bedford edge — tall trees, dappled light and a natural, green backdrop for families who like a short walk in the woods.
Rahanis Park
Wide playing fields with an open, golden-hour edge and room for big extended-family groups. Easy parking, and quiet on a weekday evening.
Your own home
Some of my favourite sessions never leave the house. Toddlers, pancakes on a Saturday morning — natural light through your own windows, and nobody has to get everyone into the car.

I’ve been taking photos since I was a kid — more than thirty years now — and I turned that into a business in 2015. Two kids of my own later, I still shoot the only way I ever have: candid, natural light, and the moments you didn’t know were happening.

Do you travel around Burlington?
Yes. I’m based right here in Burlington, so there’s no travel fee anywhere in town or the neighbouring streets.
When is the best time of year for family photos in Burlington?
Late September through the third week of October is busiest for a reason — the parks around town turn first. May and early June are quieter and just as pretty. Whatever the month, I shoot in the hour before sunset.
Where do most of your sessions happen?
Around Burlington’s parks — and, just as often, right at your own home. We pick whichever suits your family best.
Do we need a permit?
For a small family session in a public park you generally don’t. A few private spots prefer you check in first, and I take care of that once we pick a location.
What should we wear?
Soft, muted colours that don’t compete with each other, and clothes your kids can actually move in. I send a short guide with real examples once your date is booked.
How far in advance should we book?
Fall weekends usually go six to eight weeks out. The rest of the year, two to three weeks is normally fine.
